Priors Tipple is made by Isaac Nixon, artisan cider maker.
His passion is creating outstanding ciders and perries using traditional, low-tech methods and only pure fruit juice from unsprayed orchards. Apart from a small amount of sugar nothing is added - no sulphites, no artificial yeasts and no chemicals - just the best fruit sourced locally, then pressed, allowed to ferment naturally and mature slowly.
The abundance of fruit that grows on the Stanway Estate and its' surrounding villages is first gathered by hand before being pressed on his traditional man-powered screw press. The naturally occurring wild yeasts can then begin the slow process of fermentation, giving each batch a unique flavour.
Lord Wemyss invited Isaac onto his Stanway Estate to revive its' long history of cider production. He developed this very traditional Cotswold Cider, inspired by the fine local varieties growing within the region. Isaac has revived ciders and perries that have been enjoyed in The Cotswolds for generations.
